
We have a seamless dual POV which was in my opinion cleverly written. The chemistry between them was off the charts and the sexy times were super hot with a bit of supernatural spice. She didn't just roll over at first sight. Harper was defiant and fought Knox at every turn. Constantly moving around everywhere with nothing stable in life Harper grows up independent, self reliant and avoids relationships with other demons other than her family and girlfriends. When she turns four her grandmother makes her party-going, nomad father take charge of her raising. Her mother full of hate for her father abandoned her at her grandmothers doorstep. Harper Wallis has not had it easy in life. There are explanations about the soul duality of demons,Suzanne Wright explains far better that I ever could, which clarify certain behavioural aspects of Knox as well as the rest of the demons in the book. He recognizes Harper as his anchor and sets out to conquer her. No one knows what he is but everyone is afraid of him and his immense powers. Knox Thorne is powerful, domineering and calculating. Lord have mercy because this uber alpha demon certainly doesn't. No eyerolls, no head shaking just sincere enjoyment. Nothing absolutely nothing in this book made me wanna smash my tablet. My need for a good PNR without wanting to punch half the characters in it has been satisfied.

Possibly more because I wanna go back and re-read the whole thing. Even if it will mean letting the demon inside him rise and wreak the havoc it was created to make. He won’t allow anyone to take her from him. He’ll have her, and he’ll keep her safe from the threat that looms over her. Knox is used to getting what he wants, and he wants Harper. Unpredictable, elusive, and complex, she draws Knox and his inner demon like nothing ever has. Harper does neither, which unexpectedly amuses him. He’s also used to people fearing and obeying him.
